Welcome to Wyoming Elementary PTA!

"Wyoming Rocks" Carnival Fun!

The PTA welcomes you to the 2012-2013 school year.  Membership is open to any adult interested in helping to support Wyoming Elementary.  The membership drive is usually held in early September, but you can join anytime throughout the year.  Meetings are generally held once every month.  Our PTA is dedicated to enriching the education of the students with a variety of programs and activities.

Each year the PTA holds fundraisers.  The wreath sale occurs in early October, and the annual carnival date is April 12.  The carnival has food, fun, and games, along with a silent auction. These fundraisers will help support the purchase of SMARTBoards in the classrooms and lyceums for students.

The PTA holds several lyceums for the students throughout the year.  Examples of last year’s lyceums are: Critters & Company (anti-bullying), Jeff Smith, The Blind Magician (diversity), and Tasha Nelson, Olympian (motivation).  The PTA also hosts Family Appreciation Night, which will take place January 11, sixth grade recognition, and the last day of school celebration.  PTA supports classroom grants and scholarships.  Our fundraisers, along with very generous support of our local business establishments, pay for all theses activities.  With the help of area businesses and families, PTA’s most recent major accomplishments are the purchase of goal setter rims and backboards for the outdoor basketball court as well as SMARTBoards for classrooms.

Officers of the PTA are usually elected in the spring.  If there is still a vacant office, the position is filled in the fall. For more information on the PTA and its many opportunities, contact this year’s PTA Co-Presidents, Jody Hubbard, Jenny Heyer or the school office.  Remember, everyone is invited to attend the meetings; it is a great opportunity to give your input to the PTA.

The Wyoming Elementary PTA is affiliated with the state and national PTA organizations.  As a local unit of the larger organization, the PTA can benefit the causes of the children in unique and varied ways.
